GHG Validation/Verification Assessors (Multiple Sectors).

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled GHG Validation/Verification Assessors to conduct assessments of GHG projects under various programs including Verra, GS4GG, ICR, GCC, and organisation adhering to ISO 14064-1:2018, ISO 14064-2:2019. This role requires a deep understanding of methodologies and the ability to ensure projects meet rigorous standards of the registries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and a commitment to maintaining impartiality.

Technical Sectors:
Candidates with expertise in any one or a combination of the following technical sectors are encouraged to apply:
Energy Distribution (TA 2.1)
Waste Handling and Disposal (TA 13.1, 13.2)
Agriculture (TA 15)
Afforestation and Reforestation (TA 14.1)
 
Responsibilities:
 
Conduct thorough validation and verification of carbon credit projects and GHG footprints at the organizational level, following ISO 14064-1:2018 and ISO 14064-2:2019 standards.
 
Ensure compliance with the requirements of relevant registries.
 
Analyze project design documents (PDDs), monitoring reports, and other relevant documentation to assess project additionality, methodologies, stakeholder engagement, alignment of SDGs, attention to detail and the ability to analyse large data sets using excel or equivalent and in document formats, emission reduction calculations.
 
Participate in on-site assessments to verify the implementation of project activities and data collection practices.
 
Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of data, ensuring it supports the project’s claims of emission reductions, additionality and methodological fit.
 
Prepare detailed validation and verification reports outlining findings, conclusions, and any non-conformities.
 
Maintain a high level of impartiality, integrity and avoid any conflicts of interest.
Stay up to date with the latest requirements, methodologies, and decisions from relevant bodies such as the rules updates, revision in criteria and similar.
 
Collaborate with team members and technical experts to ensure the quality of our validation/verification services. Basically, demonstrate the ability to work in a team and steer projects towards successful registration or issuance on their own with little to no support.
 
Adhere to all documented procedures for carrying out validation and verification functions.
 
Ensure compliance with the organization’s Quality Management System.
 
Educational Qualification and Preferred Certifications:
A degree in engineering, science, environmental science, or a related field.
Validator/Verifier training program as per ISO 14064-1/2/3.
Professional certifications related to auditing or greenhouse gas accounting such CEA/CEM certification, reputed Industry accepted certification courses or training programs.

Work Experience:
Proven work experience in the relevant technical areas:
For energy distribution (2.1): background in electrical or mechanical engineering.
For waste handling and disposal (13.1): experience in waste management, environmental engineering, or related fields.
For animal waste management (13.2): experience in agriculture, animal science, or environmental management with experience related to animal waste management.
For Agriculture (TA 15): experience in Agriculture, or related fields
 
For Afforestation and Reforestation (TA 14.1): experience in forestry, land use, or climate change mitigation projects
Minimum of one year of direct work experience in each of the non-complex technical areas (2.1, 13.1, and 13.2), or a combination of relevant work experience and successful completion of relevant training programs
Experience in Carbon Credit validation and verification or a related field is preferred.
A thorough understanding of all the updates as per the latest requirements of the registries.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
